# Dark Traffic

[Open the interactive 3D server room](https://darktraffic.ai/).

Dark Traffic is a standalone, full-viewport 3D server-room experience. From a fixed viewpoint between two rows of server racks, you aim a flashlight to reveal equipment, patch cables, overhead infrastructure, and facilities details hidden in the darkness.

## How to interact

- On touch devices, drag in the room to aim. A tap points the flashlight at that surface.
- On desktop, move the mouse to aim. Mouse aiming continues when the pointer passes behind the HUD.
- Use the Beam width slider to adjust the flashlight from a focused 10-degree beam to a flooded 50-degree beam.
- The slider also supports keyboard focus, arrow keys, Home, and End.
- The viewpoint is fixed; there is no walking, orbit control, or pointer lock.

## Flashlight and battery

- The experience starts with a full battery and a stationary narrow-beam preview.
- Battery use starts with the first aiming or beam-width interaction.
- A 10-degree beam lasts 30 seconds, the 30-degree midpoint lasts about 8.57 seconds, and a 50-degree beam lasts 5 seconds.
- When empty, the flashlight turns off and automatically recharges over 7 active seconds.
- Battery and equipment timing pause while the page is hidden, the scene is offscreen, or WebGL is recovering.

These timings are accelerated game mechanics, not a simulation of real battery chemistry.

## The server room

The room contains two rows of four racks. The left row is weathered and densely cabled, while the right row is organized with consistent equipment and cable management. The scene also includes overhead power and data lanes, cooling and electrical equipment, fire-suppression details, a raised floor, and a rear service door. Equipment readings are decorative simulated values, not live telemetry.

The flashlight is the only scene light. Tiny equipment LEDs remain visible independently but do not illuminate nearby surfaces. There is no ambient lighting, bloom, audio, enemies, added objectives, or persistent storage.

## Accessibility and compatibility

The interface supports touch, mouse, and keyboard input across phone, tablet, landscape, and desktop layouts. It respects reduced-motion preferences, preserves visible focus and labeled native controls, and reports WebGL failure and recovery states. JavaScript and WebGL are required for the interactive scene.

Dark Traffic runs entirely in the browser. It has no accounts, backend API, analytics, purchases, or application data storage.
